The Canadian Music Educators’ Association/L’Association canadienne des musiciens éducateurs invites the next generation of music educators to participate in the following upcoming essay competitions:

2020 & 2021 NATIONAL
STUDENT ESSAY COMPETITIONS

  • Kenneth Bray Undergraduate Essay Competition
  • Dr. Franklin Churchley Graduate Essay Competition 

More information for both of these competitions can be found in the Call for 2020 and 2021 National Student Competition in English and French.  Submission Deadlines:
* 2020 Competition – December 18th, 2020
* 2021 Competition – May 1st, 2021

2020 Pat Shand
National Essay Competition

Long-time educator, researcher, and advocate for Canadian Music in Education, Dr. Patricia Shand, is the sponsor for this national essay competition. This competition is aimed at practitioners in the field, college and university professors, researchers, composers, studio teachers, and students from all levels—K-12 and beyond.

Details on the Patricia Shand Prize for Essays on Canadian Music in Education can be found here in English and French.  Competition deadline is December 31st, 2020.
