Anne Lowe, 63, of Résidence Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur, Dieppe, NB and formerly of Moncton, passed away on Monday, March 5th, 2012.
Born in Moncton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Osborne and the late Alfreda (née: Lavoie) Lowe.
Anne devoted her entire career to music education, holding music degrees from the Université de Moncton, University of Western Ontario and a Doctoral degree in Education and Music Education from the University of Illinois. She taught music privately and in public schools in Dieppe, Moncton and Fredericton, New Brunswick, Ottawa and Kingston, Ontario. She adjudicated in numerous music festivals throughout the Maritime provinces and was published in the areas of music education and the integration of the arts in the language arts curriculum. She presented her research at National and International conferences.
Anne had been a professor at the Université de Moncton since 1990 teaching courses in Music education methods and Integrated learning. She served as associate Dean and subsequently Dean of the Faculty of Education from 2000 to 2007.
She will be missed by her dear friend, John Grashel and three sisters: Sylvia (John) Cormier of Fredericton, Margaret (Roland) Richard of Moncton and Nancy (Thane) Mallory of Hatfield Pt., NB as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from the Chartersville Funeral Home, 363 Amirault Street, Dieppe, NB (857-1901) on Friday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm.
Funeral service will be celebrated from Notre-Dame-d’Acadie Chapel (U. de M.), on Saturday, March 10th, 2012 at 11 am.
Interment in Notre-Dame-du-Calvaire Cemetery, Dieppe, NB.
