The 2012 Saskatchewan Orchestral Association’s International Saito Conducting workshop will be held in Saskatoon, SK from July 21 to 28, 2012. Details are posted at http://conductorschool.com/SOA2012.html
The workshop will provide a first-class, incomparable and comprehensive experience at a low cost. A discounted rate is offered until June 15th. The workshop provides focused instruction based on the Saito conducting method as well as collegial support to address basic and advanced technical and musical challenges. It serves professional conductors, university, community and school ensemble directors and advanced university students. To understand why experienced conductors from all over the world return several times please see their comments at http://conductorschool.com/comments.html
Conductors of all types of ensembles develop their skills by learning the Saito studies and supplementary works by composers such as van Lijnschooten, Puccini, Nielsen, Holst, Respighi and Bartok.
Participants will conduct duo pianists and a string orchestra. Limited enrollment allows extensive podium time. This is the eighth workshop by the instructional team that includes Bonnie Nicholson, Dianne Gryba, George Charpentier and Wayne Toews who are dedicated to making the experience rich and rewarding.
